So farrr, I'm not doing too bad I think, I've written 4,220words...and still need another 2,444 words by tonight...! *Gambatte Pinnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!*

I thought I needed some motivational muse, and so, I bought my first Kimmidoll today. I bought a key chain version of it, which I think I might use with my car keys. So, this is Kayo... she is so cute... have a look...

Kayo
"Beautiful"
My spirit captivates and elevates.
By nurturing yourself, you allow my spirit to shine.
May the beauty you bring to the world, capture the hearts of many,
uplifting and inspiring their lives.

I probably should have gotten one that said "Inspiration" lol, but that one was so pretty, and I really loved the colours :)

I'm thinking I might set some goals and reward myself when getting to
1. word count:10,000
2. word count:25,000
3. and of course, word count:50,000 (<-- that one really deserves a supa dupa big reward!) What do you think? Help me think of some nice rewards :p... I'm thinking shoes... clothes... jewels.. LOL... I think I should stop thinking now and get back to my *ahem* novel *ahem*! Cheeeeriiooooo!!

A Lovely Saturday...

[A 3 parts post...]

This weekend was coming up to be a wonderful one. Yesterday was quite a busy night, we firstly went to my cousin Kristel and her new hubby, Henry's post wedding dinner. It was really moving to see them after the big day, since they got married in Bali. They played the wedding video during dinner and it was really really beautiful; the dress, the decorations, the aisle was pampered with petals all over, just very very pretty! And they are just the cutest of couples.. So, Congrats to Kris & Henry and here's wishing you guys a life full of love! ;)

[Kristel & Henry]

[ Little Brittney being very grown up :) ]

Oh here's a photo of one of the dishes... It's mussel with some chilli vermicelli... I didnt take too many photos of food, because I was too busy eating! lol :D

[Looks good, eh?]

Last night was also Gay Pride in Perth. So they blocked William Street in the city, since we were actually on William St, we got to see them!! There was such a big crowd. Ive never seen it before so it was a first for me. However, we didn't stay too long since we had to go to a friend's place afterwards.. Here' a few snaps...

[Pride in Perth]

[Beth & Dan being cute and silly!]

---

Oh yeah it was also Halloween yesterday night, so hope you had a nice night ;) We went to a BBQ after the wedding dinner... LOL... and ate a few bits again! lol :p more like snacking though! haha.. Anyway so after dinner, while the guys decided to have some poker time, we, girls decided to have a bit of a girly girl night. Cathy, the host, is a nail artist (that's what I like to call her!) and she wanted to give us a little treat. So Kelly and I had a little session with her. She's amazing!! However since I didnt bring my camera with me, I don't have any photos of Kelly's beautiful nails.. But Cathy gave her Acrylic nails with beautiful nail art to top it up, simply superb! I only wanted acrylic nails, since I had to go to work this week and I just thought I'd ruin it on Monday :S Here's a snap I took when I got home last night...

[Acrylic nails...]

I've never had acrylic nails done before, nor have I had my nails this long either! But I really like it. Somehow, at this point, I'm already used to typing with them. Starting this post, it was really hard and texting on your phone is even harder. It feels kind of funny but it doesnt hurt at all. It just feels unreal, because it is...well the white bit at least. If I had this done in a shop, it would have cost me $75... damn it! Maybe I should do a career in nail art...!! :)

Oh yeah, so this week...not cleaning, no cooking, no dishes for me :p lol...

---

It is the 1st of November today, which means by tonight, I'll have to write 1,600 words to start the Nanowrimo competition! Sh*t...Why did I even enroll in this? Urgh!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's the email I got from them to explain how you should keep up with November! It's pretty funny, so I thought I'd share it with u...

"Here's the plan:

Today: If you haven't already, please make a tax-deductible donation to help us pay for National Novel Writing Month and NaNoWriMo's Young Writers Program. NaNoWriMo is a nonprofit, and we've spent nearly half a million dollars getting this swashbuckling adventure ready for 150,000 adults and 35,000 kids and teens around the world. Our goal is to pay off this year's expenses and set aside enough to expand and improve both programs next year. With your help, we'll do it! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far!

Tomorrow: Make sure you've set your time zone correctly (it's under User Settings). Some word-count features appear and disappear at midnight on November 1 and November 30, so dialing those in now will save you stress later. Join a local region, and find out when and where the first novel-writing get-togethers (called "write-ins") for your city or town will be held.

October 31: Get your first pep talk email. You'll receive about three of these a week; one from NaNo staff and two from our panel of esteemed celebrity pep talkers.love to eat pep talks, so if you don't get yours, just drop by the pep talk page (under Fun Stuff) where they'll be posted as soon as they go out. Our first guest pep talker will be Jasper Fforde; he'll be parachuting into your inbox next Wednesday. Spam filters

November 1: At midnight, local time, start writing your book. You need to log 1,667 words per day to stay on par. The website will be very slow for the first few days of the event, but with patience you can update your soaring word count in that box at the top of our site. Watch your stats graph fill. Send a link to your author profile to your friends so they can follow your progress. Revel in the majesty of your unfolding story. It's November 1! You are an unstoppable novel-writing machine!

November 2: Stop writing. Wonder if you should start over. Keep going. Feel better.

November 8: As the first full week of writing comes to a close, you will be at 11,666 words. This is more fiction than most people write in their lifetimes, and you did it in a week. Go, you! This is also Municipal Liaison Appreciation Day, a raucous international holiday that celebrates NaNoWriMo's volunteer chapter-heads (the folks who organized the write-in you went to last week). Chocolate, flowers, and gifts of expensive electronics are appreciated.

November 13: Nothing really happens on November 13.

November 15: After the second week of writing, you will be at 25,000 words. This is the approximate length of such legendary works of fiction as The Metamorphosis, Of Mice and Men, and Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion. You're halfway to winning! Attend a Midway Party in your town.

November 16: The second half of NaNoWriMo dawns. Writerly confidence builds. Your book comes to life, and characters start doing interesting, unexpected things. Nice. Weird.

November 22: After the third full week of writing, you stand at 35,000 words, the NaNoWriMo milestone universally recognized as The Place Where Everything Gets Much Easier. This is also when you fly out to San Francisco and join us for the Night of Writing Dangerously Write-a-thon, where you'll help us set records for group noveling and candy consumption.

November 25: Novel validation and winning begins, and Word-Count Progress Bars turn from blue (under 50K) to green (over 50K) to purple (over 50k and a verified winner!). Check our FAQs for details on uploading your manuscript and winning. A limited number of 2009 Winner T-shirts will appear in the store. These will make you smile, and will feature a squirrel.

November 26: American Wrimos celebrate the true meaning of Thanksgiving by gathering together with friends and family, wolfing down a huge meal as quickly as possible, and then ditching those friends and family to hide in the bathroom with a laptop.

November 30: By midnight, local time, we will all be the proud owners of 50,000-word novels that we barely could have imagined on October 31. Plan to attend your local NaNoWriMo Thank God It's Over Party, where grins will abound, champagne will flow, fives will be highed, and wrists will be iced.

You did it. We all did it.

December 1: Sleep will fall heavily across NaNoLand, as 150,000 writers close the book on a crazy, oversized dream.

December 2: The "I Wrote A Novel, Now What?" page goes up on the NaNoWriMo site, containing some special items for our winners from sponsors CreateSpace and Scrivener, along with advice on revision and next steps from published NaNoWriMo authors.

December 3: Rewrites begin.

It all starts very soon, brave writer! Here's to a great month together!"

So... Will I be able to make it? Probably not...but I'll give it my best! :D

Until We Meet Again...

She was 87. She was a beautiful lady, a caring mother, a sweet grandmother and a wonderful great grand mother. And above all, she was my grandmother. She had always been there for me in all of the major steps in my life. She was one of the people I cared most about.

When I was a child, she took care of me, took me to and from school, she cooked like an angel and always spoilt me rotten. And now when I look back, I am sad to say that I have not thanked her enough for having been such an important person in my life. I remember her smile, her voice, and her laughter. I remember how she’d always say things like “An Saan Oh” (meaning, “How pretty”) when I’d dress up to go out, or sometimes just “Pren n palto, to pr gagne frais” (Take a jumper, You’ll get cold”) when I showed a bit too much skin in her opinion.

She was the most caring person I knew. She always cooked me my favourite foods when I went back home. Her niouk yen, her fried noodles, her chips, and even her morning tea were special and had a different taste. Numerous times had I tried to re create her fried noodles, but in vain. There are also some recipes which she took along with her; her home-made candies, her home-made ice creams.

Now that you are gone, Popo, I will miss the things I used to hate when you were here. I will no longer hear the banging on my door in the morning, yelling at me to wake up because it was already 2 in the afternoon. I will miss you always asking us at dinner time, when I didn’t feel hungry whether “Mo manzer pas bon? Ki fer to pas manzer?” (“My food doesn’t taste good?” Why aren’t you eating?”). Or even your little habit of just deciding that I needed some more food on my plate, and throwing a spoonful of curry on my rice. You always thought I was too skinny, and every time I went back home for holidays you’d ask me whether I was eating well in Australia. And now that I’ve taken some weight, I felt happy that next year when I’d come back, You’d also be happy to see me less-skinny.

[My Popo & I, the day I left for Australia, 3 years ago.]

She had a heart of gold, and loved her kids, grand kids and great grand-kids to bits. She also always had time for her friends and was a hard-core gambler! This word may not be appropriate for an 87year old lady, but it makes me laugh to admit that this is true. For her friends and herself, there were no Weekends, no Holiday, no Public-Holidays, no New Year’s Eves; they played their cards everyday, whether it was at our place or at another friend’s place To tell you how much they enjoyed it, on the day of my Popo’s viewing, her gang came home and played next to her. While some people might be shocked by it, I thought it was great and that my Popo would have liked it. Because I think she'd prefer the others celebrating her past life than crying over her departure.

[An old photo I found. At her 80th surprise birthday, with the grandkids.]

She was loved by a lot. At both her viewing and the ceremony at the church, people came from far away to say their goodbyes. The church was packed with around 250 people and it took the queue of people 20 minutes to give their condolences to the family at the end of the mass. That’s when I realised how popular she was and how people loved her. I wish I have that many people at my funeral..

She passed away last Saturday morning, on the 24th of October. The 24th October was precisely 15 years and 1 day after my grandfather, her husband passed away. And now they are finally reunited and resting in peace. The little joke that is going around the family is that my grandfather, my KoungKoung, was calling her on the 23rd but since she was a bit hard-hearing, she only heard him 1 day later. Now that they are together, I hope they are looking over us and are proud of what we have become. Because without them, we wouldn’t be who we are now. Without them, there would be no us.

“Do not cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” And that’s exactly what I will try to do from now on; we should celebrate their lives and rejoice what they have done throughout their existence. Until we meet again Koung Koung and Popo… Miss you guys so much.
